Shine a light No, the clip below is not from the movie ! But I sooo luvs me some Bonny Raitt anyways, This is the first movie that made me consider getting a blue-ray player.    but then again, it's not even available! What is? apart from some travel or natural history shows and just a few bestseller movies, nothing is brought out in HD! Talk about getting new technology rooted. Where is the content? Apart from the worldcup in Germany we've had nothing for years. Not even the Chines olympics will be distributed in HD. besides, I can now only watch it in the resolution intended on my pc monitor. things one notices
 It may be futile, but still, I found this discovery quite remarkable: Every day the boat above passes my home twice. First empty, on its way to the waste disposal center of the city of Den Haag, then, a few hours later with its 36 containers filled up, on its way to AVR (waste treatment plant Rijnmond at the outer Rotterdam harbour extensions). Funny thing is that it shows our Dutch Google maps were not made up from outer space, but with an aircraft, doing laps across our province, making about 1 km wide filmstrips. The boat passes on with a steady pace and this is visible about 8 times on the canal stretch from here to Overschie :     I presume you will believe the other images . . . It also shows it's not that easy to navigate this hardly streamlined barge around the narrow turns of the Schie canal. I remember a few years back this expedition almost caused an environmental disaster when it was loaded unevenly and almost tilted when it made the sharp 110º bend at de Kolk, south of Delft citycenter:  This was only prevented by an alert skipper, who could not think of anything but to push the thing full speed ahead onto the banks, where it later could be unloaded container after container. comment? |

server move = NOW everybody who runs weblogs or works on a multitude of pc's will understand that synchronizing is a nightmare, so running this page on double servers, even for a few days is not an option: I've been looking at the moved version for a whole day and couldn't get the layout back together; it was a NIGHTMARE, or, to say it in German: ein ALPTRAUM! The problem was that I had 2 versions of the little dotted horizontal line of different width only one letter apart in filename, but quite different in size. Well, it's sorted now. Let me repeat once again: the USA is still my second favorite country in the world (yep, my own  comes 1st) and thanx to your $ it is fast becoming the nr.1 tourist atraction for us euroqueens. I thought even republicans would appreciate that, so why send hatemail to some of the last friends the USA has in the world?  I do hope Boeing gets their delays with the 787 sorted. I am very fond of the curved wing shape, that reminds me of the new windmills I pass on the motorway from Den Haag to Utrecht. It is the most fuel efficient airplane being constructed right now, and thanx to the $ value it also is the most ordered plane èver. That cannot be said for the airbus A380:  Due to the € exhange rate sales remain slow, even though it's built from similar materials as the boeing and is as fuel efficient. It does show however that original production delays do melt away eventually. comment? |
