Having been raised catholic, I'm not enjoying writing about recent abuse cases in the church, but feel I have to, because in its panic our christian justice system is hitting around all over the place and has lost view on the distinction between abuse and the very natural and healthy searching and experimentation that comes with awakening sexuality of young homosexuals. As it is depicteded in the work of Bernard.

I've tried to make this point earlier here, as well as to our media Gaykrant, Gaynews. But neither these, nor the Volkskrant, also frightened off by the subject, felt inclined to publish anything about his plight. Meanwhile all his work has been confiscated, he cannot produce new work and his health deteriorates as this case drags on and on, with an Amsterdam justice department clearly not knowing how to proceed.
The homo web museum foundation and myself will continue to offer moral and where possible financial support, but the best and only just outcome would be if Bernard would be acquitted, his work returned and he would be allowed to get back to producing amazing art. I'll keep adding my vision of the church, blasfemous as it may be, as long as this church keeps on acting in the most unholy way, lacking all common sense and compassion.
Another quite different example:
a Church censor of the diocese of Brabant has declared a few songs that sunday worshippers in Dutch churches have been singing with great joy "heretic" and banned them! They were composed decades ago by popular priest Huub Oosterhuys, renowned because he also married, burried and baptised some members of our royal family. Since then he's been "excommunicated", has married himself, and his kids also got into music and now frequent the Dutch chart. One bisschop who publicly advised parishioners to keep singing the songs that inspire them, has been given a severe reprimand by the Dutch cardinal. Why don't these morons see that if they keep on squeezing the last drop of humanity and compassion from the church, there soon will be no church left.
The days have gone that these idiots can critisize the press, homos and ex catholics as slanderous, negative, sinners and 'not fitting into god's plan'. It's them, not seeing that block of wood in their own eye, who are destroying their own institution. The church is not theirs; it's of the people. jesus christ would have told them and thrown them out of the temple. This month dwh already played the Canadian documentary "kids of St Vincent" about abuse at an R.C. orphanage in Newfoundland. I would say: bischops and the pope himself, who was in person leading the office in charge of covering all this up for almost 30 years (1978 till 2005), are sooo devious and lacking any moral perspecive of their actions, that for catholic believers they cannot possibly continue as god's representative on earth and shoud be impeached without any delay. The only reason they incorporated, sanctioned, endorsed and covered up homosexual abuse for 1600 years was that contrary to abuse of girls it (unless they were totally blind, which sometimes did happen) safeguarded them from producing offspring. Instead of blaming themselves, they now take the immoral path of blaming others, like us honest and out homos.
They should start looking for the root of the evil, abolish celibacy, reinstate people like above mentioned Oosterhuis and pardon true church reformers like the late Prof Schillebeeckx, and fire the whole bunch of ass lickers to the rotten structure of the past 5 centuries.
